BIOGRAPHY

I play:
~ Bergantino cabinets and amplifiers
~ Alembic 6 string
~ Yamaha Fretless 5 string
- Xotic 5 string

I started playing classical bass in Junior High School after discovering that you couldn't take the instrument home to practice. This relieved my sense of hatred for the violin and the constant demands to practice. I was encouraged to pursue the bass by my orchestra instructor, Richard Mansfield who later became the orchestra instructor at my high school. His patient tutelage opened the door to a life-long love of the bass that has manifested itself in many forms over the years. I have played in many different groups and circumstances thanks to my aptitude for the bass.

I have played in jazz trios, quartets, septets and the U of O Jazz Lab. I have played in the orchestra pit for staged musicals and for the premier of classical compositions. I have greatly enjoyed my time with the Central Oregon Community band as well as groups in genres that range from traditional blues to southern rock and alternative rock. Past groups include 300 Pounds of Joy, The Stonecutters, Rick Welter Band, Bull Ramos, Braxton Bragg, The Lustful Monks, Lyndee Mah, The Low Hanging Fruit, Treble in River City and many more. . .

I currently play with; "Silver Linings Ensemble" (4 classical violins and a bass) and the Hillsboro Symphony Orchestra. I also accompany accomplished jazz pianist, JC Clark as a duo playing the American Songbook. During the summers you may also catch me backing Steve Cooper for some fun children's shows at your local farmer's market, and the Mahler Festival in Lake Oswego.

I hope to see you at a show!
